Daily Life At Gaia Sagrada
Get a feel for what a day in your life at Gaia Sagrada would look like!
Wake Up In Heaven!
You’ll sleep in a super comfy bed so you’ll always get a good night’s sleep. We bought the best mattresses in Ecuador! There are dorm, shared room and private room options with shared bath and private bath. To see our prices for all the different housing options, click here.
Awaken to the beautiful land that Gaia Sagrada is on, 55 acres in the magical Andes Mountains! Hear the birds, feel the sunshine, and breathe in the fresh air as you walk to the community center for breakfast.
Breakfast is at 8 am, waiting for you and all laid out, just help yourself! Exotic fruits of Ecuador, cereals, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, toast, and a myriad of other yummy treats. Don’t forget your coffee or tea!
Morning
Enjoy some yoga and meditation in the morning, although sometimes it’s in the afternoon. Depends on who is teaching yoga here and when they want to offer it. Sometimes the yoga and meditation is offered in the afternoon.
Next is karma yoga time, a time when everyone in the community chips in a little time keeping things clean, gardens weeded, dishes washed, and in general doing some house chores just like you would do if you were in your own home.
Everyone chips in 14 hours per week, about 2 hours a day, and it’s a wonderful time of connecting, laughing and being with each other doing something constructive!
Next we have a gorgeous and colorful lunch! Yum!
Afternoon
After lunch we take some time to rest, relax, enjoy the grounds, go hiking, do an activity or workshop, and be in the now moment. This is a chance for quality free time. Do something artistic, have a good conversation with someone, or think about how to make the world better and write your manifesto. If you want to just sit in a hammock, please do!
The people who didn’t do some karma yoga in the morning chip in for the dinner prep, and then we have a wonderful meal together, another gorgeous, colorful and satisfying expereince.
Evening
About three nights a week we have a workshop or activity around 7:30 after the dinner clean up is done. Sometimes it’s just a free night. Things are mellow and not high paced, so you always have plenty of free time.
If you want to, jump in the hot tub, do some evening yoga and meditation on your own, or gaze at the stars with a buddy, go for it!
Almost every night someone lights the fire on the fire patio and people hang around and listen to music, or play music, of simply converse and laugh!
Then it’s bed time! Sleep well! Sweet dreams!
Lifelong Friends
Gaia Sagrada is a wonderful atmosphere to live in, with supportive and kind people all around you. All the people at Gaia Sagrada become like family. We are all friends.
The people you will meet here will become life long friends who you know long after you are at Gaia Sagrada.
When we have retreats, you are welcome to participate in one shamanic ceremony per retreat for an extra charge. You can also participate in the retreat activities free. The honest truth is that we don’t know how long retreats will continue based on the ever uncertain world situation, but if there are retreats, jump in!
Give Yourself
The Gift of Peace
This is a moment to reflect on what you want in life and how you want to spend your time during these world changes. Give yourself the Gift of Peace. This is a place where you can be at peace during difficult world situations. As long as you can get along with others, you will be comfortable here.
This is a place where everyone becomes a family and supports one another. During the world changes this will be of utmost importance so you don’t feel so alone during these changes.
Think about how you would like to live during these world changes and give yourself the gift of having that.
