Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children since we are not legally allowed to have them around the shamanic ceremonies if they are under 18 years old. We have to keep the option open to have retreats. Therefore, we cannot risk problems with the legalities if we can have a retreat. The other problem is Ecuador requires children to be schooled in Ecuador’s actual schooling system whether they are foreigners or not, even if children don’t speak Spanish. It’s a catch 22. Homeschooling is not allowed in Ecuador. We assume that is because that privilege might have been abused and parents had their kids working on the farm instead of educating them. Having children in Ecuador is problematic for any parent specifically around the education issues.

Unfortunately we cannot accept pets. First, it’s very difficult to import pets, and also to export them if you want to leave, and also we cannot accommodate pets. One of the problems especially with dogs is that they run in packs which become dangerous if there are too many of them. Small dogs are at great risk here, as well. There are country dogs that would harm them. As for cats, kitty litter is a problem and cats may “mark” their territory with urine. They also claw furniture. We cannot risk that kind of damage to the rooms.

A driver can take you to the city if you are allowed to go anywhere without a vaccine. As with all countries, the time is coming when you won’t be allowed to enter anywhere without it. Cuenca is about 1 hour away. You would pay the driver directly. We would appreciate that there aren’t too many trips to the city though. Only if absolutely necessary. If you bring an infection back to Gaia Sagrada it would be impossible for it not to pass to everyone here. Please be very careful in town and try not to get close to strangers. We would ask that you take certain precautions like proper supplements and wearing a mask in town since it is still required by Ecuador. Ecuador is not the place to make your no-mask statement. Please, respect their requirements so you don’t attract attention to Gaia Sagrada.

You can find all the directions at our Getting To Gaia Sagrada page (https://gaia3.nfshost.com/travel-getting-to-gaia-sagrada-community-new-earth). In short, you would fly first to the international airports in either Quito or Guayaquil, and then catch another short flight to Cuenca in Ecuador. Our driver will pick you up at the Cuenca airport. Just let us know your flight times and dates! We’ll take care of the rest.
